The Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies (GCES) is designed to help students develop the English language and academic skills necessary to succeed in the Thompson Rivers University’s Master of Education (MED) graduate program.
Obtaining a GCES certificate can provide diversity in future employment directions; for example, in all levels of education system management and teaching (primary – university), education project director, academic researcher, education consultant, teaching director, dean, etc.

Four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited institution
GPA of 2.5 on a 4-point scale
IELTS 5.5 (no bands below 5.0), or TOEFL 530 (paper-based test), or 197(computer-based test), or 71 (IBT)
Letter of intent (250 words)
Three letters from professional or academic referees
